Discover the most popular and famous shayari of all time. Curated verses from Mirza Ghalib, Jaun Elia, and Faiz.
Tumhare bina subah adhoori,
tum ho toh zindagi poori.
Mohabbat se hi jeevan
roshan rehta hai.
Teri ek nazar se dil
ka alarm baj jata.
Pyaar mein chhoti chhoti
baatein sabse badi hoti.
Tum saath ho toh
raste aasan lagte.
Pyaar wo jo bina
shart ke accept kare.
Tera haath mera haath
— simple aur perfect.
Mohabbat me honesty sabse
strong bond hai.
Tumhari hasi meri favorite melody hai.
Pyaar me compromise nahi,
understanding chahiye.
Har raat tere khayal
se bright ho jati.
Main tumhe chahoon isliye
kyunki tum ho.
Love ka magic simple
presence me hi hota.
Tum mil jao toh
duniya ki tension gayab.
Pyaar me trust building
daily ka kaam hai.
Teri baton mein sukoon,
teri yaadon mein ghar.
Pyaar ka raasta patience
se tay hota.
Tere saath choti walks
bhi memorable ban jati.
Teri aankhon mein apna
sapna dekhta hoon.
Love ka promise nibhana
hi asli beauty hai.
Har pal tumhe pyaar
karna mera haq hai.
Teri khushi meri priority
— bas itna hi.
Pyaar me distance bhi
stronger kar deta.
Tum ho toh sab sahi
hai — simple truth.
Love me give and
take balanced hona chahiye.
Tere saath bitter bhi
sweet lagta hai.
Tumhara saath hi mera celebration hai.
Pyaar me small gestures
big meaning rakhte.
Dil ko tum pasand ho,
wajah abhi tak nahi mili.
Teri muskaan meri har subah ka sukoon hai,
Tera naam hi mere dil ka junoon hai.
Chahe duniya kuch bhi kahe,
Mere liye tu hi meri sabse khoobsurat kahani hai.
Tujhse baat na ho to din adhura sa lagta hai,
Tera ek message bhi chehre par smile le aata hai.
Pata nahi ye mohabbat hai ya aadat,
Par tere bina sab kuch suna sa lagta hai.
Har dua mein bas tera hi zikr hota hai,
Har khwab tera hi fikr hota hai.
Jo log kehte hain pyaar sirf ek ehsaas hai,
Unhe kya pata mera har ehsaas tu hi hota hai.
A shayari becomes famous when strangers quote it to each other at weddings, in speeches and during arguments. That usually means it carries a paradox — a thought that feels true and slightly impossible at once.
Fame has a downside: widely shared couplets are often misattributed. We recommend checking the poet's collected works or our poet pages before crediting a line, and treating 'viral' quotes with healthy suspicion.
Editor's picks: original love couplets
Mashhoor wahi hota hai jo sabke dil ki kahe,
Aur sabse alag tareeke se kahe.
Fame as shared truth in a fresh voice.
Har zubaan par jo sher chadh jaye,
Samajh lo uska darja ibadat ka hai.
Popularity as a measure of resonance.
Naam to ek din sab bhool jaate hain,
Sher yaad rehte hain, shayar bhi rehta hai.
Poetry outlives its poet's biography.

Frequently asked questions
- Who is the most famous shayar?
- Mirza Ghalib is widely regarded as the most quoted shayar of the Urdu tradition, with Meer, Iqbal and Faiz close behind depending on region and era.
- Why are famous shayari often misattributed?
- Social media rewards shareable quotes and not accuracy. A good couplet gets pinned on a famous name even when it was written by someone else.
